I’m So Glad You’re Here, Beautiful!

Let me tell you a little about myself

Hi, I am Tomika Snodgrass, and this is my story:

For as long as I can remember, I knew that I wanted to get married, have kids, and find an awesome career doing what I love. I had it all planned out in my mind. I would meet my Prince Charming, and we would get married, have two kids, two dogs, a beautiful home, nice cars, and professional careers. I was determined to have it all.

I met my husband, Dwight, over 31 years ago. I’m proud to say that we’re very happily married with two beautiful adult children, De’ja and Tre’ and our handsome Goldendoodle, Sebastian, aka “Big Bash.” Dwight and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in 2020. We have raised our children to be hard-working, respectful, loving, caring human beings, and we’ve both enjoyed long successful careers doing the work we love. It has been a long journey with lots of bumps in the road, but I wouldn’t trade a thing because we’ve faced every obstacle with courage and strength, and we’re still here together. Our love for one other is unshakable and has stood the test of time.

Along my journey, I discovered that it is incredibly challenging to juggle professional responsibilities with the demands of being a wife and mother. As well as shuffling kids to recreational activities, cooking, cleaning, family time, social gatherings, community service, self-care, romance, and so much more. I know what it feels like to be frustrated and overwhelmed and unable to give all of me to my family and my career simultaneously. My job felt like a stressful relationship and indeed not the career that I loved, and my husband seemed more like a roommate instead of a loving partner.

If I was going to have any chance of success in my career and my marriage, I had to make some changes. I had to find a way to be confident in my choices and decisions to prioritize my life. I began to intentionally focus on making room in my life for deep connections and healthy, loving relationships centered around five important areas, 1) Spiritual- putting my faith and trust in God first; 2) Emotional – understanding my needs and practicing self-love and self-care; 3) Social – surrounding myself with those who love and support me, and 4) Physical – making time for attraction, romance, intimacy and love; and 5) Intellectual – stretching and expanding myself to grow and develop personally and professionally continuously. This journey of soul searching within myself led me to take a step back to prioritize these key areas. I gained greater clarity and a whole new perspective on my life goals. With my actions and my values fully aligned, I am the person I want to be.

Changing my perspective has changed my life. Now, I have a greater spiritual connection, deep love and appreciation for myself, my family and friends, my work, and my life!

For more than 20 years, I have mentored and coached other women who strive to have it all but find themselves feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and all alone. Becoming a Certified Life Coach was a natural next step for me that has been many years in the making. I am passionate about encouraging, motivating, and inspiring ambitious women to create the personal and professional lives they want to live.
